Hodgkinson achieved her fastest time of one minute 54.61 seconds the previous season in London.
The Olympic champion finished her 800m season with a triumph at the all-female Athlos event in New York on Friday night.
{The current Olympic gold medallist, who secured bronze at the World Championships last month, dominated an impressive victory in one minute 56.53 seconds in what was only her sixth race in a year impacted by a hamstring injury.
Fellow Briton and global silver winner Georgia Hunter Bell took the runner-up spot again in 1:58.33, while St Vincent's Shafiqua M. (one minute 58.57) secured third place.
"I haven't competed much this season so it was likely easier for me to compete and be motivated to perform," stated Hodgkinson.
"The atmosphere at the event is crazy so it was extremely enjoyable."
The women-only event filled Icahn Stadium in its second edition, bringing a festive vibe to traditional track, with live music and Tiffany & Co. crowns replacing standard medals.
The 23-times tennis major winner Serena Williams, who is wed to the founder of Athlos Alexis O., was on hand to award the victors with their crowns.
Last year's winners took home $60,000 (forty-four thousand six hundred and three pounds) - among the biggest cash prizes in track and field.
The event also attracted several top athletes, as the Kenyan three-time Olympic gold medallist and global record breaker Faith K. won the mile, finishing in four hours 17.78 minutes.
The US Brittany Brown, the 200m bronze medallist from last year's Paris Olympics, won the sprint double.
