Major Russian Assaults Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the city endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after nights of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
