The New England Patriots tied their longest winning run since the Tom Brady era as they defeated division opponents the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the New England squad notched an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Drake Maye passed for 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 of 34 passes

The win increases the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had scored first at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a short rushing score to cap the New York's initial series

But the Patriots responded in the second quarter as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the victory
