The Liverpool head coach conceded that it was natural for questions to be raised about his future following another heavy loss against PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds suffered their 9th defeat in 12 games, marking the team's worst run after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.
They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a tough evening at Anfield.
“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I've received plenty of support from the top,” the coach commented.
“It would be great to turn it around and secure a win obviously but when you're coaching a team and underperforming then it is normal that people question you.”
He noted, “I accept my situation. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a difficult position but it's necessary that we improved our results.”
Upon being questioned to expand on his discussions with the club's leadership, Slot revealed:
“We talk a lot. They assist for the squad and to me and we have those conversations but they don't phone me all the time each day to say they have faith in me.”
He added, “During our regular exchanges I feel the trust. But I haven’t spoken to them after this match yet so it remains to be seen.”
The manager highlighted recurring weaknesses from his Liverpool side in their Champions League defeat, namely poor finishing and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the current crisis.
“I don’t have the answers. Truthfully, I don’t. I'm telling that to everyone,” the midfielder remarked.
“It is not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to reflect. I’m past getting mad internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the words.”
He continued, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I've watched this club all my life.”
“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a phase like this with results this poor.”
Jones stated, “However we continue to wear that badge on our chest. And as long as it is removed, we will always battle.”
“We will attempt to bring this squad return to where it needs to be, prove again the values of this club and why people call it the top club in the world.”
“But right now, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
